Qimanguli et al. successfully developed a heat-shrinkable electrospun fibrous tape and firstly applicated for loose soft tissue repairing. The HS-EFT made from amorphous polymer PLGA contracted slowly retracting the loose tissue regaining normal tissue structure. The retractive force was transformed into mechanical stimulation which promotes the nuclear transfer co-transcriptional factor YAP, and eventually making new ECM deposition. The heat-shrinkable fibrous tape is highly promising as a novel biomaterial for soft tissue repairing both structurally and functionally.
